FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

PROGRAM FORMAT AND TIMING

  1. What is the format for completing the coursework? Are there any live components?
The course includes both on-demand (asynchronous) and live (synchronous) components. Many of the assignments are on-demand and self-paced with deadlines, but there are also live webinars for each exam section and study group sessions that provide real-time interaction with instructors, Study Coaches, and peers.

  2. What is the time commitment to participate in the program?

  • Live webinars and study group meetings:
In addition to a course orientation webinar, plan to attend five (5) live webinars covering NCIDQ exam content. The webinars are 90 minutes long. Study coaches have a set schedule for their small group sessions; they are typically held weekly for 60 to 90 minutes during the course term.

  • On-demand course content:
You can expect to spend 1 – 2 hours completing the on-demand content available in the Introductory Module.

  • Independent study time:
It is estimated that you should plan 5 – 10 hours per week studying for the NCIDQ Exam leading up to your exam date. Plan to complete reading assignments ahead of each webinar and practice questions for your weekly study group sessions. Allow 1 – 2 weeks to study and complete the assignments given each week.

  1. If I’m unable to attend one of the live webinars, will I have access to a recording?
Although the webinars are recorded, participants are strongly encouraged to attend all scheduled live webinars and study group sessions to ensure their questions and needs are addressed in real time. Study coaches may record their meetings upon request.

  2. Where can I get some of my questions answered between the live webinars and study group sessions?
The NCIDQ Exam Prep Course has its own Activity Feed section on the course homepage for all participants in the course. Your study group will also have its own Group Chat Space where you can post questions and comments. Your peers can offer great suggestions in working through a stumbling point while studying. Use the strengths of yourself and your peers to support each other through your studying quests. The discussion forums are a great tool for peer interaction. Check them regularly for comments and posts that might be helpful.

EXAM CONTENT COVERAGE

  1. How is ASID's NCIDQ Exam Prep Course addressing the current NCIDQ Exam updates?
The NCIDQ Exam Prep by ASID Course has been updated to reflect the current exam blueprint content areas provided by CIDQ. Our curriculum aligns with the revised structure for IDFX, IDPX, and the new IDIX section, ensuring you’re fully prepared for the updated exam requirements.

  2. How is exam content covered?
The course work is structured around all content topics for each section of the exam: IDFX (Fundamentals), IDPX (Professional Practice), and IDIX (Implementation). Each topical course module covers concepts, skills, and content applicable to all exam sections, with independent assignments, a live webinar, and follow-up activities with your study group.

  3. I only plan to take one section of the exam during the upcoming testing period. Would it still be helpful for me to take this exam prep program?
Yes. The course is designed to support participants preparing for any combination of NCIDQ Exam sections. Even if you are sitting for only one exam section this cycle, you should still plan to complete the full course. Our course content structure includes four (4) instructional, topical modules that each integrate concepts, skills, and exam content relevant across all three NCIDQ exam blueprints (IDFX, IDPX, IDIX), so you’ll benefit from every part of the program.

If you pass the one section and want our support for the remaining section(s) you need to take, you can join us for a second round at a special discounted rate. Email us at education@asid.org if you are a repeat student to receive your discount code before registering.

If you use a different edition/version from the required texts noted for the course, your assignments might be off slightly by page number or item number. It will be up to you to make sure that the differences are accounted for when completing your assignments in the course. We will not provide information for different text editions. Assignments are aligned with the required materials and textbooks for the course.
